Primary Children’s Medical Center NICU Creates Custom Lanyards

Lanyards are a creative security measure for campuses and healthcare facilities.  This is particularly true when speaking about a group like Primary Children’s Medical Center (PCMC).  A PCMC ID is required to enter the unit. Different Lanyard Finishes

There are many different lanyard finishes and each has its own purpose.  Our customers have different uses and concepts when it comes to the function of a lanyard.  That’s why it’s important for us to be able to accommodate their requests and come up with a custom lanyard that looks the way that you specify.

Imprinted Lanyards

Imprinting is the most common type of lanyard.  It is great for simple logos or text and can be used to raise awareness for a company, idea, product, or event.  It is limited to simple logos or images because gradients can’t be used.  There is an additional setup required per color.

Metallic and Reflective Imprinting on Lanyards

Metallic and reflective imprinting can be used to draw attention to text or to emphasize key components of the lanyard.  It also reflects light and draws attention to the wearer; making them more visible at night and safer than other types of lanyards.  Metallic imprint and block text draws attention to company logos and brand.  It also frames the focal point of the lanyard which raises awareness for brand among potential clients.

Woven Polyester Lanyards

Woven polyester lanyards are durable.  They have a higher perceived value due to the integral nature of the text (or very simple logo) on the lanyard.  If the text has texture, metallic thread can be used to emphasis the letters and make them stand out against the semi-matte finish of the lanyard.  This helps makes lanyards appeal to more people.

Heat Transferring and Offset Printing on Lanyards

Heat transfer or offset printed lanyards are slightly more expensive but they do offer unlimited colors or design ideas.  This type of process can transfer photographic quality images onto the lanyard.  It is not hindered by multiple setups.  Shadows and gradients can be used and it is the best choice for complicated or multicolored logos or text.  This style is popular with those desiring multicolored lanyards and the only restriction on the image is your imagination.

Glow-in-the-Dark Lanyards

Glow-in-the dark features can be included as text or can be extended to the lanyard itself.  It makes text legible in all types of lighting and times of day.  It is especially useful in lowlight situations in which the details of a regular lanyard would be lost.  It can also be incorporated as a safety feature which draws attention to the wearer.  It is also useful for finding keys or badges in the dark.

Dollywood Celebrates 25 Years of Family Fun with Custom Trading Lapel Pins and Lanyards

Located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Dollywood has been recognized as one of the world’s best theme parks. As collaboration between Dolly Parton and Herschend Family Entertainment, It covers more than 150 acres of land with over 40 rides and attractions.  For its 25th anniversary, the family entertainment arena decided to add lapel pins and custom lanyards to the celebration.

What Size Should My Customized Challenge Coins, Lapel Pins or Lanyards Be?

Individuals that have little to no experience ordering these types of items are often concerned about how large or small they should be.  We feel like that is a good area of discussion for our blog as we are often asked by our customers what we would recommend for each one of the products that we sell.  Here is what we have to say about personalizing challenge coins, lapel pins, and lanyards:

Custom Challenge Coins are created in 1.5” and above.  The smaller the coin, the easier it is to carry around in your pocket. Our most common size is 1.75” but it really depends on how much detail your product requires.  With that being said, 2” challenge coins are great for presentation and awards.  The larger coin allows for more detail and text which is often necessary for rewarding employees, professors, members of the military, and athletes.  We also offer bottle opener challenge coins which we recommend in sizes 2” or 2.25”. This allows ample room for custom artwork and the actual opener.

Personalized Lapel Pins on average are 1”.  Smaller pins can be created for those customers wanting to achieve a more subtle look.  Sports trading pins are often created in 2” or larger because the increased size affects its desirability and tradability.

Embroidered or Imprinted Lanyards are commonly ordered in ¾”.  This provides enough surface area for legibility of any imprinted text and does not overwhelm the wearer by being too large.  The imprinted tube style of lanyards has its own common size due to its unique construction.  They are typically 1/2′’ in width.
