Wisconsin Riders Get Custom Biker Lapel Pins to Support the Special Olympics

Few people know that the first Special Olympics was held in Chicago in July of 1968. It was started by Eunice Kennedy Shriver in 1962 as a summer day camp for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. It is hard to tell by the current involvement of nearly 200 million people around the world that the event began with just a little more than 1,000 participants 43 years ago.

Riding to Show Their Support

The 2011 Special Olympics will be held in Athens, Greece starting June 25th, which has generated a great deal of anticipation for the organization’s countless supporters, especially Wisconsin Law Enforcement. Officers and members will be doing their part to support the Special Olympics by participating in a charity motorcycle ride for which All About Pins was commissioned to create the custom biker lapel pin.

The motorcycle pin adds even more excitement about the coming of the event. The bright red flames against the black background suggest that something big is about to happen. The contrasting rich blue text makes the name of the ride boldly visible and easy to read.

Add-ons Create Character and Depth

The dangler add-on announcing the event year and displaying at lit torch adds a touch of fun and a sense of freedom that both the ride and the Special Olympics will inspire within its participants. However, danglers are not the only add-on option we offer.  For added character and depth of design, our customers can choose from glitter and glow-in-the-dark enamels, gemstones, bobble heads, sliders, cut-out and even blinking lights. In addition to those little extras, we offer custom shape, like the lapel pin shown above, which helps make the pin even more unique.

Custom Shaped Lapel Pins Make a Remarkable Impression

Custom lapel pins are incredibly personal.  Instead of going with a prefabricated design, businesses, organizations, and sports teams can choose the features that matter most to them.  In addition to selecting the size and style that best represents your design ideas, you can also choose the shape of your custom lapel pins.

There are many factors that can influence design ideas.  Here are a few of the most common:

  • The purpose of the lapel pins
  • The customer who is purchasing the lapel pins
  • The recipient of the lapel pins

These factors often dictate the number, colors, style, size, and shape of a custom lapel pin.

Some of our past customers have been:

  • Fire Departments that use Maltese Crosses
  • Police Departments who choose the shape of their badge or shield
  • Chapters or teams that incorporate the shape of the state or region they represent
  • Non-Profits and Charities that create ribbon shapes for awareness (Cancer, Autism, Military, AIDS)
  • Companies that choose lapel pins in the shape of logo

No matter what the occasion, custom lapel pins deliver favorable results.  As a promotional tool, they get your name or brand into the hands of the public. They also are incredibly helpful at conferences, trade shows, and job fairs.

In terms of workplace incentives, nothing speaks more highly of the people that work for you than custom employee recognition pins or Years of Service awards.  Custom shapes can say a lot about your business or organization.  It is details like these that make your custom lapel pins stand out in a crowd.

What Size of Custom Lapel Pins Should I Order?

When it comes to making a good first impression, being on top of current trends can help businesses obtain an edge over the competition.  All About Pins acknowledges this fact and wants to give you, our customers, some information that could help set you apart in a crowd.

The right size of custom lapel pin can make all the difference to your employees and customers.  A well-crafted design can lose its impact if printed on a surface too small to accommodate all its important details. The same can be said about images that are printed to scale.  Enlarging these items can distort the graphic and prevent the custom lapel pins from being an exact match or your logo, mascot or photograph.

So, how do you determine which size of lapel pin fits your design idea?  It’s really quite simple.  You can refer to this guide or call us toll-free at 1-866-604-9462 or email info@allaboutpins.com.  Our excellent sales staff is available to answer any questions you might have regarding the size, shape, style, and color of your custom lapel pin order.

The Standard Size and Style of Pins Ordered By Our Customers

The option to personalize lapel pins makes it easy for customers to get the results that they are looking for.  The following list of items includes some of the sizes and styles sold by All About Pins:

  • Formal Wear and Business Attire require lapel pins less than 1” in size.  This prevents the accessory from overpowering the actual tuxedo, suit or gown.  Men in general, prefer this size of custom lapel pin.
  • Hat Pins and Lapel Pin Brooches are often the star of the show.  They range in size from 1.25” to 2”.  This ensures that they are seen wherever they go.  Women like to wear these items on hats and other garments.
  • Sports Team Trading Pins make a bold statement when they are 1.5” to 3”.  This gives teams plenty of room to include information about the sport they play, their mascot, team name, and players’ numbers.
  • Lapel Pins Cufflinks are less than 1” in size so that they do not overwhelm a uniform or business-related article of clothing.
  • Lapel Pins Keychains are 1.5” and larger.  A double-sided option gives customers more room to advertise their product, service or event.

Making a bold statement with custom lapel pins is easy once you have decided which size best fits your unique personal design.  From cufflinks to trading pins, we have you covered by offering the best service we can provide.  Visit All About Pins for a free quote.

Outdoor Organizations Use Lapel Pins To Reward Talent

Outdoor sports require a high level of skill and a keen eye for detail.  Bow hunters, anglers, and sports hunters hold competitions as a way of promoting their clubs and organizations as well as shine the spotlight on masterful men and women.  Custom lapel pins help rank members according to skill and performance.

Recently, we were able to design First, Second, and Third Place lapel pins for the LoneStar Bowhunters Association to award to winners of various archery contests.  We worked closely with our customer to create the type of lapel pins that make people proud of their accomplishments.  That got us thinking about the different uses of custom lapel pins.  In this particular case, the items ordered from us were used to reward accomplishments by skilled bow hunters.

Custom lapel pins can also be used to:

  • Educate the public about a club or organization’s interests.
  • To promote the sport to others.
  • To generate the interest of new members.
  • To raise funds for sporting events and competitions.

Due to their versatile nature and portable design, custom lapel pins remain a favorite of outdoor clubs and organizations.  They can be created to include information about the group, the event, and the individual bow hunter, angler or sports hunter.   They also make great souvenirs for all those who participate in a competition or benefit.  People nationwide can take time out of their busy schedule to take part in an annual event, make new friends, and do something they really love.

Lapel pins add value to competitions by offering tangible rewards.  Individuals who place in an event can hold the pin in their hands and later display it in a location for everyone to see.  This can be on a t-shirt, hat, bag or bulletin board.  No matter which way you look at it, even a novice can be a winner when custom lapel pins are involved.  Handed out as a prize for everyone who has registered in an event, the small promotional products are great motivators.

Patriotic Lapel Pins For Your July 4th Festivities

No July 4th celebration could be complete without a symbol of patriotism.  Lapel pins featuring images of the American Flag, Bald Eagle, Liberty Bell, Stars and Stripes, and the Statue of Liberty are very fitting for corporate picnics, family get-togethers, and summer baseball and softball games.  Customizing a familiar design and adding details about your business, organization or sports team is a very successful way to grab and keep the public’s attention.

People are drawn to symbols of patriotism.  Engrained in our society, images of the American Flag or Bald Eagle conjure up feelings of pride and determination.  Custom lapel pins serve as a way to honor those who are actively protecting our country’s freedom. They also represent those individuals who are retired from the military or who have lost their lives in combat.

Stars and stripes and the colors red, white, and blue have been adopted by businesses and organizations worldwide as a way of paying tribute to past and present members of the military and their families.  A powerful testimony of one’s love for the United States of America, these images can be featured on a custom lapel pin along with your unique logo, motto or mascot.

Custom lapel pins can be used to promote a new product, advertise an upcoming Fourth of July fundraiser or barbecue or be used as a declaration of faith and hope for the war efforts.  Patriotic pins make a memorable keepsake by serving as a fun reminder of past events.  People often wear these items to parades, conferences, and political rallies.

Creating a custom lapel pin featuring a patriotic symbol is easy.  First, you must consider the purpose of the lapel pins.  Are you having a family reunion on July 4th and want to give each member who attends something to remind them of their experience? Next, you must decide what type of lapel pin best fits the theme of your event.  Are you looking for something with style and appeal?  Does cloisonné seem more fitting than soft enamel?  After determining this, you can think about which design elements are essential for your patriotic pins?  Will the standard American Flag do or are you looking for something more modern or edgier?  Last but not least, you will need to contact All About Pins concerning any questions you might have about ordering American Flag lapel pins or other patriotic pins.

Custom lapel pins are incredibly effective and memorable products that you can hand out on July 4th or any other time of year.  Customers, team players, and family members appreciate the functionality and message that patriotic lapel pins carry.

Custom Lapel Pins Aid with Hurricane Preparedness

Hurricane Awareness Week is May 23rd through the 29th and the first day of Hurricane Season is June 1st. Custom lapel pins help teachers, rescuers, and businesses deliver messages concerning safety measures and emergency preparedness.  The pins can be used in classrooms and corporate settings as an educational and promotional tool.

Here are some of the ways that All About Pins have seen them used:

  • In place of pushpins for Hurricane tracking maps.  Schools and classrooms can customize their designs with an image of their mascot or teacher and highlight key areas of the pins with glitter or blinking lights.
  • As a way to identify emergency personnel.  Police officers, firefighters, and medical rescuers wear their pins in a highly visible location as a way of assisting the public in times of peril.
  • To warn people of the potential danger of Hurricanes.  Hail, storm surges, flooding, and tornadoes require different levels of preparation.  Businesses and organizations can include the pins with literature at preparedness events.

Hurricanes can wreak havoc on a person’s home or business.  Taking the precautionary measures recommended by experts can help people walk away from a big storm unscathed.  Custom lapel pins serve as reminders to individuals in states and countries that are affected by this type of weather phenomena.  Despite the products’ small size, its effectiveness is undisputed.

Using Custom Lapel Pins to Celebrate June Holidays and Observances

June is filled with reasons to celebrate.  Along with nationally recognized holidays like Father’s Day and Flag Day, there are plenty of opportunities throughout the month to use custom lapel pins.  All About Pins has come up with this handy guide to help businesses and organizations promote themselves in new and creative ways.

A few of our suggestions include:

June 1st is Stand For Children Day. Awareness ribbon lapel pins can be created to speak out against Child Abuse, educate the public about the effects of Autism on a family or raise funds for after school programs and recreational facilities.

June 4th, 1896 is the day that the first Ford was made. Automobile enthusiasts can show pride by ordering custom lapel pins for their car club.  These items can then be used to promote events and encourage new members to join the organization.

June 5th is World Environment Day. Companies, sports groups, and youth organizations can take a stand against environmental destruction by creating and wearing custom lapel pins.  Messages about reducing, reusing, and recycling can be incorporated into a pin’s custom design.

June 12th, 1839 is the day that the baseball was invented. Sports teams can get ready for the season by ordering baseball trading pins that feature their choice of colors, logo or mascot, and team name.  They can also include information about their hometown and player’s names on the pins.

June 14th is Flag Day. Businesses can show their pride by handing out American Flag pins in honor of the event.  These pins can be traditional or contemporary.  They can be created in a variety of sizes, shapes, and finishes depending on what the customer prefers.

June 20th is Father’s Day. Restaurants that feature a special brunch menu for fathers can use lapel pins to accent napkin rings or place cards.  Sports venues and concert halls can hand out pins as a small token of appreciation for attending an event.

June 23rd is National Pink Day. Breast Cancer Awareness Month is in October but there is no reason why it can be incorporated into today’s theme.  In addition to custom awareness ribbon lapel pins, businesses and organizations can create pink poodles for a Parisian theme, pink flowers for a Garden Club, and pink booties for Birth Announcement pins.

June 29th is Camera Day. Photography clubs can honor their members with custom camera lapel pins.  These items can help identify members, award them for their commitment to the club, and be sold to others as a way of raising money for new equipment or a special event.

Like every other month, there is a lot to be excited about in June.  Custom lapel pins can help businesses and organizations achieve their goals easily and affordably.

Why Choose Offset Printed Lapel Pins?

Offset Printed Lapel Pins can enhance the appearance of a design by creating a duplicate image of a logo or photograph.  Tiny details and color gradients often make it difficult for some companies to replicate custom images.  By using the offset printing process, All About Pins creates quality pins for customers who use them in a number of ways.

One of the most popular reasons that a customer would choose Offset Printed Lapel Pins is to pay tribute to loved one.  With Memorial Day fast approaching, many men and women order pins that feature a picture of their family member or friend.

Although it is a popular trend to create memorabilia that honors lives lost, Offset Printed Lapel Pins are also used to pay tribute to exceptional men and women.  We were able to create a pin for Fire Chief Robin Colerain and place her photo in the middle of the design.

We also produce these types of pins for fundraisers.  The Top Hatters Frog Jumps Poker Run 2010 was one of the many designs that we were able to recreate using our customer’s photograph.

Offset Printed Lapel Pins give customers more control over the design process.  This ensures that they are 100% satisfied with the service that they receive when ordering from us.

Environmental Awareness Lapel Pins for a Greener Planet

In the wake of the ecological disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, companies use custom lapel pins as a way to make others aware of potential environmental issues facing our world.  A powerful design featuring custom artwork can help motivate the public to take a stance and fight global warming, offshore drilling, and deforestation.

Businesses and organizations committed to a cause can show their support by using environmental awareness lapel pins in the media, at fundraising events, and as educational tools at schools and global conferences.  The small pieces of memorabilia outlast traditional promotional products like ink pens and notepads which keeps them out of landfills and makes them the ideal medium to deliver an earth friendly message.

Companies can measure the immediate impact that “going green” makes on the planet and their budgets.  Energy saving tactics and inner office recycling programs promote healthier habits in the workplace.  Custom lapel pins can convey these efforts to employees and the public easily and affordably.

All About Pins helps businesses and organizations to convey their environmental agendas through the creation of custom lapel pins.  We offer all of customers a number of free items with their orders.  Free design services, free custom artwork, a free digital proof with unlimited revisions, up to seven colors free of charge, and best of all—fast and free shipping.

Time is of the essence.  With our planet in peril, an environmental awareness program within the confines your business or organization couldn’t come at a better time.  Visit us on the web at http://www.allaboutpins.com to learn more about the benefits of creating eco-friendly custom lapel pins for your employees and customers.

From your stance on drilling for oil in our waters to promoting greener energy resources, custom lapel pins are a great way to showcase your feelings on how we are treating our world and what should be done to help.
