Chinese New Year and How It Affects Your Challenge Coin Order

The Chinese New Year is the longest and most important holiday on the Chinese calendar.  The origin of the festivity is centuries old.  It is significant because of its myths and traditions.  Some of the countries and territories that celebrate Chinese New Year include Mainland China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Tibet, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Chinatowns elsewhere.

Chinese New Year has special meaning for our manufacturing department.  That’s why we wanted to take a moment to explain to you our production schedule for the month of January.  Because our custom challenge coins are produced in China, there will be a period of time where production will be halted.  The Chinese New Year is nationally celebrated from January 21st to January 31st.

If you need a challenge coin produced for an event that takes place at the end of the month or early February, you will want to place your order with us within 5 business days of today.  This gives All About Coins the opportunity to submit your order to the manufacturing department and make sure that your items arrive in time for your special event or occasion.

Questions About the Proofing Process Answered By the All About Network

This past week, we have received a number of questions about the proofing process.  In fact, many of our customers have asked, “What happens with my proof after we finalize the look and feel of my coin/pin/lanyard/patch? Do you keep it on hand?”  The answer to the question is that, “Yes, we do keep it on hand because we know that you may one day want to order or reorder from us.”

It’s quite common for a proof to be completed and a purchase to come in at a later date. We understand that there may be a lot of hurdles to overcome to get approval to make a purchase, raise funds for the order, and even gather additional feedback on the design from your peers. We keep your proofs on a high capacity server with multiple back-ups which means we will have your artwork on hand for many, many years. We are ready to complete your order for you whenever you are ready to proceed.

You might also want to know what happens to your mold after you make a purchase from us.  Much like our proofs we keep molds on hand for many years. This means lower costs on challenge coin reorders and also consistent looking lapel pins and custom coins for future orders.

Having quality products on hand whenever you need them is a great asset in today’s world.  You never know when you’ll need a recognition award gift or something to hand out to a potential business partner or client.  Let the All About Network be the one you come to for all of your challenge coin, lapel pin, lanyard, and patch needs.  We take your design ideas and turn them into something concrete and worthy of praise.

We try to make things as easy as possible for our customers so if you have any questions please contact us!   We are here to help.  You can reach us by calling 1-800-667-5931 toll-free or emailing info@allaboutchallengecoins.com.  We’ll be more than happy to honor any request that you have and to even answer all of your questions as they come along.

Dual Purpose Custom Challenge Coins Created for RR Steakhouse of Marengo, Illinois

There is only one thing that clients love more than a quality, well prepared and delicious meal; and that is the same meal at a money saving price. RR Steakhouse in Marengo, Illinois embraced this idea and decided to create a customized restaurant challenge coin that plays two important roles in the restaurant’s success.

Two Purposes Equals Two Sides

It makes sense that RR Steakhouse’s custom coin was created using both sides.  With it serving dual purposes, using both sides of the coin maximizes the amount of space available to use for the challenge coin design. This double sided and antique silver finished company coin was designed to give patrons more than they expect.

As you can see, one side of this challenge coin provides the restaurant’s location and contact information. Having coins made with the establishment’s contact information allows the challenge coin to serve as a business card.

The steakhouse also made the challenge coins redeemable for a discount or credit. When customers flip their coins over, they will find a monetary value on the it.

Better Quality By Comparison

RR Steakhouse, like many other businesses and companies, realized that challenge coins are a great investment for a few reasons. In comparing challenge coins to traditional business cards, it becomes obvious that customized coins:

1.    Lasts longer than paper products

2.    Have a higher perceived value

3.    Are not misplaced easily

Bearing this in mind, could your business benefit from an innovative and unique way of connecting with customers? Do you know for certain that offering clients a discount on your goods or service will boost business?  If your answer is yes, then why not have custom challenge coins made for your company?

Challenge Coin Created to Reward Rhode Island Boy for Bravery

Eight-year-old David Morales was awarded a challenge coin for his bravery by Lt. Gen. Reginald Centracchio, the retired head of the Rhode Island National Guard, late last week.  The second-grader at Tiogue School violated a “no-weapons policy” by gluing plastic Army figures holding guns to a camouflage hat for a patriotic project that he was assigned in class.  School officials gave him the opportunity to wear the hat provided that the plastic figurines were replaced with non-combative ones.  That is when Centracchio stepped in to meet with Tiogue School Administrators.

In addition to the challenge coin, David was awarded a certificate that allows him to be called a brigadier general.  The young man was reportedly very happy with the honor and which he claimed was “really special”.  This story is a prime example of the type of impact a custom challenge coin can make on its recipient.

Since World War I, challenge coins have been a symbol of bravery, perseverance, and dedication.  Recipients of all ages and from all walks of life have been commemorated with specially awarded challenge coins.  Available as single or double sided objects, they are sometimes turned into a keychain or pendant so they can be carried at all times.

Ranging in size, shape, color, and style, these versatile pieces of memorabilia are used in academic, military, corporate, religious, and charitable settings as a way of encouraging and rewarding good deeds.  Individuals that meet or exceed expectations can count on receiving some form of recognition for their efforts.

Unlike other types of awards, challenge coins have a long lasting appeal of their own.  Even eight-year-old David recognized his award’s potential.  A few cautionary measures can help protect them from scratching and everyday handling.  Velvet bags, acrylic cases, and display units can be purchased as a way to show off the challenge coins without the risk of them being damaged.

For decades, challenge coins have been regarded highly by members of the military, academic institutes, non-profit organizations, sports teams, and religious groups.  More than just an object with sentimental value, challenge coins represent the dedication and commitment of individuals determined to make their homes, schools, teams, churches, and world a better place.

Challenge Coins Help Celebrate Retirement from the Military or Public Service Field

A long career with law enforcement, the fire department or the military is something many men and women strive to achieve.  Those individuals approaching retirement age have a lot to celebrate.  After years of service, they finally will have the resources needed to spend quality time with their families, travel to exotic locations, and pursue the hobbies that have interested them in the past.  Custom challenge coins designed for retirement parties make great gifts for attendees and also serve as a fond reminder of the roles service men and women play in our communities.

Retirement challenge coins are unique. They have the retiree’s name on the coin and also have the different ranks that they achieved while in the military or working in a public service role.  Military challenge coins for retirement parties usually consist of the name of the man or woman being honored, their branch emblems (Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marines), and the starting and ending date of their years of active service.  The challenge coins often include the location of their last assignment as well.

Challenge coins have a long history.  For decades, they have been awarded to the brave men and women in the armed services.  They are also used to promote camaraderie, goodwill among units, and encourage people to be their own personal best. Because of this, they are great way to cap off a retirement celebration.  Containing details about their personal and professional experiences, these items reflect the individuality and accomplishments of the retiree.

Custom Challenge Coins to Honor Fearless Firefighters

Recently, we have had an influx of challenge coin orders from firehouses located throughout the United States.  Our customers contacted us because they wanted to create a design to award to distinguished individuals in their department.  They wanted an item that not only represented the spirit of firefighting itself but also that of the men and women who served within the confines of a particular district.  They chose challenge coins because of their measurable look and appeal.  We were able to help them customize the challenge coins to their liking instantly.

The challenge coins were then used in a variety of ways.  Some firehouses used them as years of service and recognition awards.  Others chose to order them to pay tribute to fallen firefighters.  No matter what the use, customized challenge coins are highly regarded because of their incredible look and feel.  Due to their size and the type of materials being used, these items are usually thick and weighty. They are a tactile award because they can be handled over and over again without being damaged.

Fire personnel become emotionally attached to the coin because it reminds them of their past accomplishments and the relationships that they built back at the firehouse.  Firefighters often forge friendships that last them a lifetime.  The men and women that they work with at the fire station play an integral part of a firefighter’s professional experience.

Collectors of challenge coins know the importance of displaying these objects.  Sharing these items with others is half the fun of receiving a challenge coin.  Velvet bags, acrylic cases, and display units are some of the ways that firefighters keep their memorabilia safe.

All About Coins offers fire departments their choice of features as well as options when it comes to personalizing challenge coins.  Different types of finishes and edges compliment custom artwork.  Dual plating and 3D molding helps give designs depth and distinction.  We can help you determine which features to include in your order today.  Just give us a call at 1-800-667-5931 toll-free to discuss your fire department challenge coin ideas with us.
